The Travel Mindset

Becoming a traveler for life.

What makes travel "Travel". Everyday we drive to the grocery store, bike to classes, walk to the neighbors, or stroll down the beach. However somewhere in our minds, there is an on and off switch for the "travel mindset".
The travel mindset is prefaced by the unknown. Traveling entails a venture into the new and the unknown. And when we flip on the travel switch our mind is taking in everything as if it's the first time. I can drive down the 101 twenty times a week, but when I embark on a road trip to Tahoe, every passing billboard becomes an "experience". This is the key difference in what separates the travel mind set from the average commuter one. Experience.
If we can keep the switch on, then we are always traveling. If every place we go is a venture into the unknown, then every experience is one in where we can learn something: both about the world and about others (one reason many travel). I don't say this with the meaning that walking down the aisles of the grocery store, we must be enamored by all the types of cheese, but it is a very first step if one wants to start travelling internationally, and they want to do it forever.
